As The Colorado Low Still Bears Down on SW Ontario
Wow! What a whallup we're getting and it's far from over yet. The snow is said to be only part of what we'll receive. Right now the pathway through the little garden in the front yard is flanked by snow up to my knees! Luckily it was fairly light while I barreled through it. After tonight and the several millimeters of freezing rain predicted that snow will be VERY heavy! (I'll be shovelling for a few hours for seniors again tomorrow and I just know I'm going to "feel" it afterwards! Ugh!) Good exercise - just a bit too much all at once is all!
So right now here in the garden it's -3 C with a windchill taking us to -12 C, winds are out of the East (always seems to mean a storm!) at 50 km/h. Humidity is pegged at 100% and Barometric Pressure is at 100.59 and it's dropping! Following 6 hours of freezing rain (up to 20 mm - just under an inch) Big Warnings are still out and we're even being told we might hear thunder rolling - we may even see lightening with all this as we go through the evening. Crazy storm... normal for a wicked Colorado Low and now they're saying the low will "hang around" for the weekend so this could mean there's still more "stuff" to follow! Here's a shot of the "side ways snow fall!" a view from my kitchen window looking across the street.
On the other hand, just before the storm started Keisha was having fun in the garden!
She was catching her favourite throw toy - a "Chewber" - like a frisbee but better!
And for something more colourful... Here's a peek at some gorgeous mums that I hope I'll manage to plant out in the garden later this year once this winter has become a dim memory! These were a lovely birthday present and the colour is just amazing. This shot is taken with only natural light coming in a north window. And no "touch ups" or photo-shop applied - just nature at her very best! She's just incredible!
I converted the shot into another of those colouring pages - this particular flower shot converted VERY nicely without much extra work at all!
I might've made it a bit small though but people can always enlarge it I think!
Tomorrow I'll continue the rundown but not till after several hours of snow shovelling for seniors in one neighbourhood in our town! It's somewhat grueling work but I do get paid so I won't look a gift horse in the mouth - the funds will be helpful! That starts early in the morning so by the end of the day I might have more weather news to tell, if I'm not too exhausted! he! he!
